## How recordings are protected [#how-recordings-are-protected]

- **Encrypted on your device.** Every recording gets its own key, made on your device, before the first second leaves it.
- **Encrypted in storage.** It stays encrypted in storage and in backups.
- **In the European Union.** Recordings, notes and their backups are stored in Western Europe.
- **Backed up.** Your data is backed up continuously, with a second copy kept apart.

Our servers open a recording only to transcribe it and write your notes.

## Your account [#your-account]

- **Passkeys.** Sign in with your fingerprint or face, or with a code sent by email.
- **Your devices.** See every device signed in under **Settings › Devices**, and remove one: it's wiped the next time it connects.
- **Delete for good.** Delete a recording, its audio and its notes whenever you like. See [Your data](/legal/your-data).
